Coaching with Dave

Coaching that’s trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and practical. Whether you’re coming out of high alert, working on a relationship, or rebuilding life after a major transition, we’ll choose the format that fits you best.

Our Services

  • Individual Sessions

I offer 1:1 coaching sessions for people who feel stuck, burned out, or stuck in high alert. We look at how your history, nervous system, and current patterns fit together, then build clear next steps so you’re not just surviving but actually moving your life forward.

  • Couples Session

Couples coaching is for partners who are tired of the same fights, shutdowns, or missed signals. I help you both see what’s really happening underneath the arguments—nervous system responses, attachment patterns, old stories—and give you tools to communicate, repair, and share the load more fairly.

  • Coaching Intensive Package (6 sessions minimum)

Intensives are for when you want to move faster and more deeply over a set period of time. Over a minimum of 6 sessions, we work through my five core pillars—Safety, Worth, Initiative, Competence, and Identity—so you can understand what’s kept you in Condition Red and start living from a steadier place.

  • WORKSHOPS & PRESENTATIONS

Together we map how stress and past experiences are showing up in your nervous system, relationships, and identity, then build practical tools to help you feel steadier, more present, and back in control of your life. Available as private 1:1 coaching. Best for people who: – Have been in long-term high alert – Want a short, structured container

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I work with veterans, first responders, and civilians of all genders who are dealing with stress, trauma, major life transitions, or relationship challenges. If you’ve lived in “always on” mode for way too long and know something needs to change, you’re in the right place.

What’s the difference between 1:1, couples coaching, and intensives?

  • 1:1 Coaching is focused just on you—your history, nervous system, patterns, and goals.

  • Couples Coaching brings both partners into the work to rebuild trust, communication, and connection.

  • Intensives are a minimum of 6 sessions where we go deeper and more focused over a defined period of time, instead of just “whenever we can get to it.”

Is this therapy?

No. I’m a trauma-informed coach, not a licensed therapist. Coaching focuses on where you are now and where you want to go, using education, tools, and accountability. If we hit something that belongs in a therapy office, I’ll tell you straight and, if possible, help you find a good referral.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Most of my work is done online via video, which means we can work together no matter where you live. In-person work may be available for certain intensives or workshops, depending on location and timing.

How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?

Standard sessions are 50–60 minutes. Most clients start with weekly or every-other-week sessions. Intensives are scheduled more intentionally—usually a set number of sessions over a specific window so we keep momentum and focus.

How do I know which coaching option is right for me?

If you’re not sure, start with 1:1 coaching. In the first session or consult, we’ll talk about what you’re dealing with, and I’ll give a straight recommendation: keep it 1:1, bring your partner in, or set up an intensive. You don’t have to figure that out alone.

Can we do couples coaching if my partner is hesitant?

Yes, as long as they’re willing to show up and give it an honest shot. I don’t take sides; I work for the health of the relationship. If your partner really isn’t ready, we can start with you 1:1 and build from there.

Do you take insurance?

No. Coaching is private pay only and is not billed through insurance. Some clients are able to use HSA/FSA funds for coaching, but that depends on your specific plan—it’s on you to check.

What are your rates?

Rates vary depending on whether it’s 1:1 work, couples, or an intensive package. Once you reach out through the contact form, I’ll send clear pricing and package options—no surprises, no weird sales pressure.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Generally, I ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or no-shows are typically charged as a full session, with exceptions for genuine emergencies. Respecting the time goes both ways.

What can I expect in our first session?

We’ll talk about what’s going on in your life right now, any history that actually matters for the work, and what you want to be different 3–6 months from now. I’ll explain how I work—trauma-informed, attachment-aware, direct but human—and we’ll decide together if it’s a good fit and what the next steps are.

Do I have to know which service I want before I reach out?
No. If you’re unsure, just reach out. In a consultation or first session, we’ll discuss what’s going on, and I’ll provide a straightforward recommendation—1:1, couples, an intensive, or the 6-week Reset.
